A safer pause button for storefront operations

Maintenance mode gives Stoify merchants a branded, scheduled storefront pause while dashboards and protected previews stay available.

A safer pause button for storefront operations

Planned maintenance is a normal part of running a storefront, but the public experience during that work should still feel intentional. Today we’re introducing Maintenance Mode for Stoify: a site-scoped module that replaces public storefront routes with a branded page while the team keeps working in the dashboard.

A clear public state

When maintenance mode is active, shoppers see a focused page instead of a catalog or checkout that may be changing underneath them. The page uses the site’s active theme and supports a title, description, a Lucide icon, and purposeful buttons for the next best destination.

The settings are designed for quick operational changes. Button rows can be added from the keyboard, styled individually, and pointed only at safe internal paths or http and https URLs. That keeps a temporary page useful without turning it into an unvalidated redirect surface.

Schedule the window

Some pauses need to happen immediately. Others belong to a launch checklist or an overnight migration. Maintenance Mode supports both: leave it on until a team member turns it off, or schedule an inclusive UTC start and end window.

The master module switch remains the source of truth. A configured future window does not affect shoppers until it starts, and the normal storefront returns after the window ends.

Keep authoring available

Maintenance mode is deliberately limited to public storefront traffic. The dashboard remains available to the merchant team, and the protected builder preview can bypass the gate. The builder also exposes a dedicated Maintenance page surface when the module is enabled, so the message can be previewed in the real theme before it is published.

That separation matters during a busy change: the team can update the catalog, review checkout, and refine the maintenance copy without asking shoppers to watch the work in progress.

Maintenance Mode is available from Settings → Modules and its dedicated settings page.
