Announcing Shopify-style returns, refunds, and order cancellation

Today we’re introducing a fuller post-purchase workflow for Stoify: return requests, safe receiving, partial refunds, Stripe refund tracking, and cancellation before an order is fulfilled.

The work is deliberately order-centred. Refunds made from a return, a cancellation, or a merchant support decision now belong to the same ledger, so the team can see allocations for items, shipping, and delivery tax without relying on scattered notes.

Customers can request eligible physical-item returns from their account and follow the request through review, receipt, and refund status. They can also cancel an unfulfilled order before dispatch. For captured Stripe payments, cancellation starts the available full refund and releases the reservation rather than inventing new stock.

For teams, return receipts are recorded in batches and locations so repeating a receipt does not restock the same quantity twice. Failed or pending Stripe refunds remain visible and retryable, while Stripe webhook events reconcile the final status.
